"Your Name"

One of the greats;"your name"(Japanese:Kimi no nawa)
  Since I mentioned "your name" in the last post on "weathering with you", I thought it would be best if I also gave a detailed review of this great movie.
 "Your name", is quite possibly Makoto shinkai's greatest movie and is a giant in its genre. I would say that it's definitely a must watch for anyone who's getting into watching anime movies. Now let's get into the plot;
  The plot
   The story follows the lives of a boy named Taki who lives in Tokyo and a girl named Mitsuha who lives in itomori. The two of them suddenly begin switching bodies with one another, which obviously leads to some hilarious situations in the other person's life. As they begin to figure out what's happening to them, they start leaving each other notes whenever they switch bodies, in order to ensure that they know what to do whenever they switch bodies. However, after a ritual performed by Mitsuha in her village, the body switching stops. Taki tries to contact Mitsuha again but has no idea of where she actually lives, and is forced to rely on a sketch drawn by memory to find her. But as he gets closer to finding her, he finds that his memories of her are slowly fading along with all the traces of his contact with her.
  That pretty much gives an idea of the plot, however the rest of it should be watched in order to fully enjoy the movie (also if I told you it would spoil the whole movie)
    The characters and the character design
 The movie follows two main characters for the whole length of the movie, with a few other characters thrown in to enrich the plot.
  However the story is mainly focused on;

• Taki; A high school boy from Tokyo
• Mitsuha; A high school girl from the small town of itomori.

 As expected from one of the greatest anime movies of all time, the character design and art directory is absolutely gorgeous. Makoto Shinkai along with his animation director Masashi Ando, and character designer Masayoshi Tanaka did an absolutely amazing job of creating an atmosphere that encaptivates it's audience.
   Music
 But aside from the gorgeous animation, what puts "your name" ahead of all it's competition and makes it an absolute icon, are the soundtracks that play alongside the movie and add another captivating dimension to it.
   The japanese rock band Radwimps can be thanked for the amazing soundtracks that complimented the movie perfectly. Tracks like "sparkle", "zenzrnzense" and "nandemonaiya" by the band featured in this movie.
    The verdict
 The truth is this movie doesn't need a verdict of any kind, "your name" is an absolute icon of its genre and will hopefully continue to be for decades to come. So if you haven't watched it yet, what are you waiting for? It is an absolute pleasure to watch and is definitely an amazing movie.
